Board Announces Resignation of Executive Director Paula Shilton and Search for New E.D.
After almost 7 years with the Clarke County Mentor Program, Paula Shilton is leaving her position as Executive Director and relocating to Oregon. Paula and her husband lived in Oregon before moving to Georgia, and with two adult children living on the west coast, they are looking forward to new opportunities – – employment, recreation, and family.
Paula has been a tremendous asset to the Athens-Clarke County community as a non-profit director, an advocate for children, and especially for the work that she has done for the Clarke County Mentor Program. During her time as the Executive Director she has recruited, trained and supported hundreds of mentors each year so that students in Clarke County public schools could have a supportive adult mentor. She has developed new programs to provide on-going encouragement for the mentors, provided guidance to the Board, developed vital new funding sources for the program, and assured that the CCMP is in a strong position to move forward as Clarke County’s established, long-term mentor program. I know that you will join me and the Board of the Clarke County Mentor Program as we thank Paula for her years of service to the children of Clarke County and wish her and her husband best wishes in their new adventure. The search for her successor is underway. Additional information: http://clarkecountymentorprogram.org/mentor-resources
